East Boulder

Sip wine in your backyard while watching your chickens, alpacas and/or goats with the sunsetting over the foothills. Yep, this can be your Tuesday night in Rural East Boulder.

Rural East Boulder lot sizes are much larger than in the city and you get more house for your money here. East Boulder “is rural”ish living 10-20 minute drive from downtown Boulder and in many East Boulder locations only a 5-10 minutes from Louisville and or Lafayette.

There are also less rural neighborhoods in East Boulder – there might not be any alpacas in these areas but the more for your money part still applies.

Fairview Estates Neighborhood

Fairview Estates, made up of three streets, is a pocket of peace surrounded by main thoroughfares – South Boulder Road, 76th Street and Baseline Road. Residents here walk their dogs off-leash down the middle of the street. This area has not seen as much gentrification as other rural East Boulder communities have seen. A lot of the homes are inhabited by people who bought them decades ago. Although homes do have mountain views from this neighborhood, the money views are mostly from the homes located on the west side of Ord Dr. in Fairview Estates.

Town really meets country in this community perched above the city of Boulder with panoramic views. Even though this is the largest rural east Boulder community the windy roads feel sleepy. The housing inventory is motley here – ranging 1950s construction to modern dream homes.
