Downtown has three different subsections:
East Pearl -The Brooklyn of Boulder, the 15th block to about 23rd block (but expanding) of Pearl Street, is the up and coming part of town. New high-end, urban condos/townhomes and apartments are popping up like rapid fire as are new, hip coffee shops and restaurants.
Pearl Street Mall – The 11th to 15th block of Pearl Street is the most touristy part of town, though a couple of Boulder’s best dive bars are located here.This area is also where many people do their part in keeping Boulder weird – talented buskers, the guy who stuffs himself into a lucite box, the Balloon Man among many others…
West Pearl – 8th block to 11th block of Pearl Street is a charming more quaint part of downtown. It is also very easy to access outdoor recreation from this end of town. Some of Boulder’s tried and true establishments reside here like Pasta Jay’s, The West End Tavern and Spruce Confections.

Lolita’s:
Lolita’s is the lone 24-hour mart (with the exception of 7-eleven) with a little of everything and high price tags for the convenience. There is also a not advertised deli in the back – in my opinion one of the best delis in Boulder.
The Kitchen:
Everything is farm-fresh and delicious at this nice but low key restaurant. Don’t miss out on their weekend brunch.
Pizzeria Locale:
Upbeat restaurant with upscale pizza.
Boxcar Coffee Roasters and Cured:
A local coffee roaster and specialty food shop share a space and together create a great atmosphere to sit and enjoy a coffee or a sandwich.
